The second OHADAC Conference was held in Port au Prince, Haiti, in June 17-18, 2008; it revealed a very strong desire throughout the entire Caribbean community for an effort such as OHADAC to harmonize business law and enhance the rule of commercial law.
This Conference was co-sponsored by the legal arm of MINUSTAH (United Nations Mission for Stabilization in HAITI), and by ACP Legal association, and was held in the presence of the Haitian Secretary of State for Justice, Mr. Daniel JEAN, of eminent members of the French-Haitian Chamber of Commerce, and of Haitian civil society.
It established the following priorities for OHADAC's future activities:
- Arbitration law Recovery of debts and measures of execution Company law General commercial law Labor law Transportation law, etc…
