June 20, 1810, nineteenth anniversary of the attempted escape of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette. The grand marshal of Sweden, Count Hans Axel von Fersen, is massacred to death by a mob in the streets of Stockholm, victim of a political conspiracy.

Sixto Sanchez Lorenzo (Oviedo, 1962) is Professor of Private International Law at the University of Granada. He has been a visiting professor at several universities in the Americas and the Caribbean, and a prominent OHADAC lecturer. Author of voluminous scientific work, he has published in 2002 a satirical essay on university “Bestiis Universitatis”, Dykinson.
“The Queen's Lover” is his first novel (published by Roca in Spanish). Currently he is preparing a second work, “The Secret of Ney”, which runs through Napoleonic France and the Bourbon restoration.
