June 20, 1810, nineteenth anniversary of the attempted escape of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette. The grand marshal of Sweden, Count Hans Axel von Fersen, is massacred to death by a mob in the streets of Stockholm, victim of a political conspiracy.

Before expiring, the images of his eventful life through his mind: his first training during a trip when he was fourteen, his first loves, his friendship with Marie Antoinette, his journey to the American Revolution, the French Revolution and how he organized the aborted escape of Kings at Varennes?

Sixto Sanchez Lorenzo (Oviedo, 1962) is Professor of Private International Law at the University of Granada. He has been a visiting professor at several universities in the Americas and the Caribbean, and a prominent OHADAC lecturer. Author of voluminous scientific work, he has published in 2002 a satirical essay on university “Bestiis Universitatis”, Dykinson.

“The Queen's Lover” is his first novel (published by Roca in Spanish). Currently he is preparing a second work, “The Secret of Ney”, which runs through Napoleonic France and the Bourbon restoration.
